Activities

Holiday Clubs:

We run summer projects on the Play Farm, but I’ll let Little JJ tell you all about that because she always go to them….

“I LOVE it! We run a Summer Project every year on the Play Farm. People aged 5 plus are welcome to attend on their own and the holiday project takes place over 4 days during the Summer School holiday period. Parents and Carers are all welcome to stay and those with children aged under 5 just need to stay on the site with their children. In the morning we all do acts of kindness in the community! I learnt how to paint benches this year but others did some gardening for the local homes for elderly residents whilst some of my friends cleared away an overgrown area to create a community picnic site and others made lunch for us all to enjoy! After lunch we play sports and do fun, creative activities. It’s all about caring, cooperation, love, trust, resilience and finding the courage to try and learn something new!”

Saturday Club:

This Club runs from 10.30-11.30am on Term Time Saturdays during the Summer Terms and the first half of the Autumn Terms. All are welcome along…

Time is very relaxed – you can just have a bit of space to play with your parents or children or if you are aged 5 or over you can have some time to make things and play outdoors after your parents or carers have dropped you off! Some adults like to stay though and make themselves a coffee or tea – and most importantly ‘chat’!

Watch out for Sidney the Snail … there are creative challenges and he’s got a lot to teach us about perseverance. “By perseverance the snail reached the Ark”, said Charles Spurgeon.

Events:

Finlay Fox says: “Oh my goodness! We love to celebrate good things at Jolly John’s! We’ve had all sorts of special events and all are welcome. We have had a ‘Happy Harvest’ event with BBQ, fun stalls, drinks and Jolly John’s Jazz Band and you should have seen the Queen’s Birthday celebration – it was really cool! Look out for ‘Little Bird’s Eye View’ or ‘Little Bird’s Tweets’ for news about new events…”.
